[SA] Seth Piszczuk – Crafers Hotel
Seth grew up surrounded by wine in the Barossa Valley. With both sides of his family connected to the wine industry, an appreciation for wine was one of Seth’s earliest acquired skills.
Vocational training and sports coaching isn’t a conventional path to becoming a sommelier. However, Seth has utilised skills from his previous professions that are fundamental in how he connects and understands people, gaining the ability to translate wine into language toa suit diverse personalities.
Since professionally gravitating back to wine, Seth has worked within several Adelaide Hills wineries. He has engaged in roles encompassing cellar door, sales and marketing, logistics and operations, as well as in wine buyer roles for prominent bottle shops around Adelaide.
Currently, Seth is the head sommelier at the Crafers Hotel — the gateway to the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills, and was a recent named finalist in the 2025 Sommeliers Australia Education Scholarship. Seth’s strong direction led Crafers Hotel to be awarded Australia’s Best Pub Restaurant Wine List at the 2024 Australian Wine List of the Year Awards.
