Join Vino Cammino’s Melbourne/Adelaide Wine Journey!
Hi Melbourne/Adelaide wine trade,
Vino Cammino is on the lookout for two fine wine-savvy, hospo-connected superstars to help us build our trade presence across your wonderful cities. We’re not just any fine wine importers – we’re all about championing incredible wines made by women with a French and Italian focus. You can read more about our story here, or just google Max Allen’s article about us in the AFR.
What’s the gig?
It’s a super flexible contract role (one day a week – so you can keep your current somm/shop floor or other wine sales role) where you’ll be out and about, introducing our wines to restaurants, wine bars, and indie bottle shops. You’ll have the freedom to set your own hours and start off on a day-rate basis ($333 per day), so there’s no immediate pressure to sell before you’ve had a chance to grow our name recognition and build relationships. Down the track, we’ll shift to a commission model that works for both of us.
Who are we looking for?
Someone who knows their Nerello Mascalese from their Timorasso – you might have WSET Level 3 or 4, been a trade rep before, worked the floor as a somm, or you’ve got some other experience you think sets you up well for a role like this. You’ve got a ready-made network in the Melbourne/Adelaide hospo world (you know who’s pouring what, where), and you’re excited to bring our women-made wines to the scene, building our name and market presence from scratch. You don’t need to be the loudest voice in the room, but you do need to know the people in it.
Timing + how to apply:
We’d love to hear from you by Oct 31. Send a short note to [email protected] telling us about yourself – wine experience, network, what excites you about this role – whatever you think helps us get to know you. If you have a CV or linkedin profile, we’ll look at it, but don’t bother creating one if you don’t. We’ll set up a quick video call with shortlisted candidates in the first week of November (if not earlier), with a decision shortly thereafter. Flexible start date, probably in the new year.
Sound like your kind of thing? Let’s talk.
