With a hospitality career spanning over 20 years, Mirco brings a wealth of experience to the national committee.
Originally from Italy, Mirco’s love for hospitality has taken him to different countries, most notably to the city of Macao, where he was wine director for one Michelin-starred Otto e Mezzo Bombana Macao, China. While there, he achieved Two Glasses with Wine Spectator. Mirco was also the winner of the Ruinart Challenge for Hong Kong and Macao in 2019. Mirco worked as the senior beverage manager for the Tillbrook Melaleuka Group, facilitating the curation and expansion of the beverage program across all their restaurant and retail outlets. It was this position that led him into the role of Wine Director at The Heritage, curating the wine bar and restaurant list, as well as their wine store and bottle shop selections.
As a certified sommelier, Mirco uses the words ‘work’ and ‘passion’ interchangeably, as he believes you can’t have one without the other. Mirco recently passed the Advanced Court of Master Sommeliers exam, and he aims to make the wine industry more inclusive.
