Over two decades, Liinaa has crafted a vibrant career in the hospitality industry. Originating from Mauritius, she arrived in Australia in 2006 where her passion for wine and spirits began to unravel. By 2013, after earning a Bachelor of Business and cutting her teeth at Siglo, she embarked on her sommelier path.

Her career is a kaleidoscope of experiences, ranging from 5-star resorts, wine bars to fine-dining restaurants and culinary festivals. During her seven-year stint in South Australia, Liinaa was well known in the Adelaide’s wine scene for orchestrating innovative events with local wineries and other wine experts to consistently push the boundaries of how wine is perceived and appreciated.

Renowned for curating exceptional wine programs, Liinaa’s expertise has been celebrated with winning multiple accolades at the Winelist of the Year Awards. A tireless explorer, she pursues her education with annual pilgrimages to Europe, where she has explored over 35 wine regions. Through her writing, she shares her deep reverence for small artisan producers and ethical viticulture, blending philosophical musings with a holistic understanding of the vine, humanity, and nature.

Her international connections have earned her the role of Melbourne’s ambassador for Star Wine List, the definitive guide to the world’s top wine venues across more than 90 cities. Liinaa moved back to Melbourne in 2022 to repurpose Pentridge into a hospitality precinct and opened award-winning Olivine Wine Bar before doing a stint as the wine buyer at Embla. Liinaa now lends her expertise as a consultant to other esteemed venues and regularly participates as a wine judge in national shows.
