[WA] Warriors of Wine – Fundraising Long Lunch – PERTH
Sunday, 26 October 2025 # 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm AWST
$165.00 – $195.00Warriors of Wine is coming to Perth on Sunday 26 October for a unique and interactive dining experience, bringing together three top Perth sommeliers in a friendly yet competitive challenge.
We are delighted to announce this year’s competitors:
- Andrea Frigerio (Wildflower Restaurant)
- Katia Taschetti (Threecoins & Sons and Testun Bar)
- Maelys Coulon (Cooee)
Following Champagne Pol Roger served on arrival, enjoy a three-course lunch, during which each ‘warrior’ will carefully select and present a wine to pair with each dish. At the end of each course, guests will rank the wine pairings using a Brownlow-style voting system:
- 3 tokens for their favourite pairing
- 2 tokens for their second choice
- 1 token for their third choice
The Sommeliers Australia committee will count the tokens at the end of each round and announce the course winner. The sommelier with the most votes overall will be crowned Warrior of Wine Perth 2025.
Beyond the competition, this event is a critical fundraiser for Sommeliers Australia, supporting its ongoing work in the industry. The afternoon will also feature an auction and raffle, with the chance to take home exceptional wine-related goodies and hospitality experiences.
Join us at The Heritage Wine Bar & Restaurant for an afternoon of celebrating the craft of the Sommelier, outstanding food and wine, and spirited competition – all for a great cause.

More about this year’s Perth Warriors:
Andrea Frigerio is originally from Italy and now based in Western Australia, brings a deep passion for wine, hospitality, and Italian culture to his role as a sommelier. After completing studies in Hospitality Management, he built a strong foundation in service and wine knowledge that has shaped his career. For the past five years, Andrea has been part of the team at Wildflower Restaurant in Perth, where he serves as Sommelier and Duty Manager. Holding WSET Level 3 Award in Wines, he curates unique wine experiences that celebrate Australian producers alongside old-world classics, while continually expanding his expertise through tastings, travel, and collaboration.
Katia Taschetti is originally from Umbria and moved to Melbourne in 2011 to complete a Master’s in Advertising at RMIT before relocating to Perth, where she worked at the acclaimed Restaurant Amusè. She later co-founded two Mount Lawley venues, Threecoins & Sons and Testun Bar, where she has spent the past decade managing operations while remaining hands-on front of house, championing genuine Italian hospitality. Her long-standing love of wine has evolved into a dedicated pursuit, with a focus on integrating wine more meaningfully into her career. She holds WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and participated as a scholar in the 2025 Sommeliers Australia Education Scholarship.
Maelys Coulon is originally from Burgundy and grew up surrounded by vineyards that shaped both the landscape and daily life. For her, wine culture was embedded in the rhythm of daily life, and she came to understand its international prestige. A natural traveller, she has always sought connection through new places and cultures, a journey that eventually led her to Australia. With hospitality ingrained from an early age, Maelys has spent the past two years as Restaurant Manager at Cooee, where she champions genuine service and thoughtful dining, bridging her Burgundian roots with her Australian hospitality journey. Maelys is currently pursuing WSET Level 3 Award in Wines, deepening her knowledge and refining her craft.
