Blind tasting is one of the most effective ways to refine your palate, but it often comes with challenges – it can be expensive, time-consuming, and intimidating.

To make blind tasting more accessible, Sommeliers Australia has recently introduced a dedicated tasting group in Adelaide. These sessions have already proven to be highly successful, providing a structured and supportive environment for wine professionals, students, and enthusiasts.

Each session runs for one hour, allowing you to focus purely on what’s in the glass. Simply book, turn up, taste, and develop your skills with expert guidance from host Sally Johnson (Lecturer and Diploma Academic Support Manager at the Wines and Spirits School, TAFE SA).

Throughout the session, you’ll taste four wines – two whites and two reds – carefully selected for their typicity, representing a diverse mix of varieties, origins, quality levels, and price points. At the conclusion of each bracket, your host will provide key insights and practical techniques to help refine your tasting approach.
