Founded in 2001, the Len Evans Tutorial is a five-day tasting event held in the Hunter Valley each November. Throughout the week, the twelve successful scholars will be guided through workshops, masterclasses, and tastings, led by a panel of highly regarded industry experts.
The determining force with all the applicants is their potential, but experience as an Associate Judge at regional shows is beneficial. Previous Scholars have come from the fields of winemaking, liquor retailing, restaurants, marketing and journalism.
The Len Evans Tutorial is open to all Australian wine industry personnel, regardless of their present position, or state of residence. For the moment, priority is given to Australian-based applicants.
Twelve fully paid scholarships are offered each year, generously donated from industry sponsors with wine, food and accommodation valued at around $9000 included. The only cost incurred by the scholars is physically getting to the Hunter Valley.
